- Growth in executive jet charters continues in 2023
Whether you’re exploring the idea of private jet travel, have recently had your first executive charter jet experience or you’ve been flying private for decades, a 2023 travel trends study found that once you’ve started, you’re likely to continue flying private in the future.
According to a report by Private Jet Card Comparisons, 94% of travelers who started flying private since the beginning of the pandemic plan to continue using private aviation in the future.
Many travelers came to private aviation looking for a safer alternative to commercial air travel during the pandemic, with executive charter jets having fewer touch points and therefore less risk to your personal health and safety. After flying private and experiencing the convenience of skipping the lines in commercial airports and avoiding tedious security checks, most have chosen to stay.
- The rise in Bleisure travel
The line between business and leisure travel is becoming increasingly blurred. Where destinations appeal, professionals are adding weekends, or even weeks, to business trips – giving rise to the term ‘bleisure’. Business travellers are also taking the opportunity for their families, partners and even their pets to join them on some of these extended trips.
‘Bleisure’ travel took the private aviation industry by storm in 2021 and 2022. In fact, in 2022, more than 60% of business trips in the US turned into ‘bleisure’ travel. And it looks like this trend is set to continue into 2023 and beyond.
- Taking back control of your travel
Between January and April 2022, just 76% of non-stop domestic flights in the US arrived on time, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). December also saw some of the worst disruptions with the most cancelled or delayed flights in a decade, according to data from FlightAware.
When you fly private, you’re no longer constrained by pre-determined flight times and routes – an executive charter flight puts all the power in your hands. You’ll never have to rearrange your schedule, because there are no set flight schedules. Being able to choose exactly when you want to fly is a huge convenience, and it’s one of the main reasons so many travelers choose to fly private.

Additionally, private aircraft are much smaller than commercial airplanes, so there are many more airport options for landing. This means you’ll be able to get closer to your final destination than you normally would when flying with a commercial airline.
