Flexible timings of private charters are one of the most important benefits. You can plan your departure flight as needed. At the end of the day, you can take a long trip or plan an overnight trip to get your flight crew wet and get ready to depart.  In addition to your private jet business, you can also do tasks instantly if you want to use your travel time to prepare, call, or go to the location for a recent conference call. It also gives you privacy to facilitate work on the plane, but this is not available on flights. Private flights saves you lots of time depending upon how fast do private jets fly

You can save more time by avoiding the lengthy boarding process on private flights compared to commercial jets. Traveling directly to your destination can save you time, but this is not always possible with commercial airlines. Also, long-term savings may be needed. Private flights are always the fastest way.

However, you can reach more airports around the world, including regional ones, than commercial airlines. This means that you can get closer to your destination, which will greatly reduce your travel time.

But the real question is how fast do private jets fly?

Private jets typically fly at 600 to 700 mph, with speeds up to 600 mph. The Boeing 747 travels at 800 kilometers per hour, which is much slower than the average private jet. However, the average speed of commercial aircraft ranges from 460 to 575 mph. The fastest private jet is the Cessna Citation X, which has a top speed of 711 mph. The Gulfstream G-650 can travel up to 704 mph and the Dassault Falcon 7X can reach speeds of 685 mph.

Many factors affect the speed of the aircraft, including the weight, altitude, and temperature of the aircraft. On a large scale, the aircraft produces more friction and limits its speed. Large airplanes require a lot of effort to accelerate.

Different private jet classes will have different average speeds. Within charter jet categories, however, there are some aircraft that are faster than others. These are the average speeds for the different categories of private jets.

Heavy Jets, SuperMid Jets and Midsize Jets – 400 to 500 mph / 350 to 455 knots

Light Jets – 400 to 480 mph / 350 to 430 knots

Turbo Props – 220 to 315 mph / 190 to 275 knots

Of note is that both the Gulfstream G650 and the Citation X can fly at 565 knots.

One knot is equal to one nautical mile per hour, which is 1,852 meters.

It’s not just the speeds planes are capable of flying that impact how fast you’ll reach your destination. There are other factors that have profound impacts on speed, such as:

  • Headwinds
  • Jet Streams
  • Turbulence
  • Weather
  • Flight Altitude
